See Idaho like never before from the air!

Breathtaking Beauty
The best way to see all of Idaho s geological extremes is from above! Previously viewed on public television and winner of a prestigious regional Edward R. Murrow Award, Idaho: An Aerial Tapestry follows the route of the mighty Snake and other rivers on a journey across the entire state. Fly above the river and the many other waterways that crisscross the state for amazing views of its lakes, forests, jagged mountains and rolling prairies. Then, swoop down into Hells Canyon, the deepest in the United States, for scenery like no other!

Dramatic Landscapes
The diversity of Idahos landscapes makes the Gem State shine in the Pacific Northwest: from deserts to wind-swept plains to snow-capped peaks and lush valleys. It is ...a state that seems to have been parceled from many, wrote author and native Idahoan Vardis Fisher. Spectacular cinematography of dramatic scenery and an original soundtrack, make Idaho: An Aerial Tapestry an adventure you will never forget!

Nice Aerial View of Idaho

Good video -- I never knew that Idaho had so many different looking regions. I am looking forward to flying over much of it in my light plane.

Best available outdoors documentary for Idaho

Reviewed by Dennis Nicholls, 2009-10-17

This documentary originally aired in 1999 on Idaho Public TV's "Outdoors Idaho" series, and was previously only available on DVD-R from the station. This is a much improved pressing, and is cheaper to boot. The aerial photography was shot in native 16:9, presumably with a high-def camera. The narration is cheezy (think "chamber of commerce") but on the whole this is probably the best one-hour documentary on scenic Idaho. Although Amazon doesn't mention it, this package from Topics Entertainment includes a second DVD disc of PBS's "Over America" thrown in, making this an even better deal. Both discs are anamorphically enhanced for widescreen 16:9 televisions.
